Allied Health services including EP visits are approved to be funded by a range of different schemes such as:
Practitioners can offer Enhanced Primary Care CE Plans(EPCs)for chronic health conditions, providing you with up to 5 subsidised Allied Health Services per year through Medicare. These services are tailored to your individual needs by your GP, such as 1 physio, 1 dietician, and/or 3 exercise physiology sessions. This allows you to use Medicare to receive a subsidy on your Exercise Physiology sessions.
The NDIS funds allied health and other services for people with disabilities under the ‘capacity building’ budget. Exercise physiology falls under ‘Improve Health and Wellbeing’ and ‘Improved Daily Living’ categories.
If you have funds allocated to these categories, you can access exercise physiology through NDIS. If not, it can be suggested at your next review or funded from the ‘Core supports’ budget for an assessment with our exercise physiologist, who will assess the impact of disability and how our services can help achieve NDIS listed goals.
Our EP will provide a detailed report on how exercise physiology meets NDIS criteria and will be working closely with your care teams as a part of your multi-disciplinary support network, to help improve your health outcomes, independence, and quality of life.
Our EP is approved to provide DVA services to assist individuals recovering from service-related injury or illness, as recognized within Medicare services. Patients with a Gold Card, White Card, or written authorization from a commission are eligible for EP services. This requires a referral in the form of a DVA Request/Referral Form (Form D904) or official practitioner’s letterhead or referral pad. This can come from any of the following: Local medical officers (LMOs), General practitioners (GP), Medical specialists, another EP who has a current referral & is transferring the entitled person, a hospital discharge planner or a treating doctor in a hospital.
All referrals must include: Name of the entitled person to whom the services will be provided, DVA file number, Referrer’s health care provider number (or the hospital’s provider number if discharge referral), date of referral and condition to be treated.
Our Exercise Physiologist is SIRA approved. We can help you in your process of recovering from workplace-related injuries while working together closely with the insurer and your doctor. We will formulate a safe and effective return-to-work plan, ensuring workplace physical demands are considered throughout.
